COACHING IN SASKATCHEWAN
Coaches are members of Swim Sask, Swimming Canada and the Canadian Swim Coaches Association (CSCA).

Swimming Canada - National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)
Within 14 days of commencing duties as a coach:
Coaches must be a minimum of 15 years of age to actively coach with an affiliated club in Canada.
Coaches must register annually and complete all required consents in Swimming Canada Registration and Events Management System (REMS), including Canadian Swim Coaches Association (CSCA) screening. The registration period is September 1 to August 31 of each season for Year-round/Age Group club coaches and Masters club coaches and May 1 to August 31 for Summer club coaches. Club Registrars will initiate coach registration.
All coaches aged 18 and older must submit a Police/Criminal Record Check AND Vulnerable Sector Search to Swim Sask every 3 years.
Complete Respect in Sport (RiS) certification as required by Sask Sport Inc.
*Coaches must also meet NCCP Education Requirements. See “Steps to Become a Swim Coach” document above for details - deadlines vary.
Coaches are responsible to maintain their certification by obtaining necessary professional development (PD) points every 5 years - Swimming Canada Maintenance of Training and Certification.
